Custom Themes and Blocks

I build themes from scratch — no page-builder bloat, no unsupported third-party frameworks. If you need custom Gutenberg blocks that match a Figma design pixel-perfectly or a block-based editorial workflow that your team can actually use, I’ve built both at production scale.

For clients on the classic editor track, I work in ClassicPress as well. For headless setups, WordPress becomes a clean content API.

WordPress Multisite at Scale

I’ve managed a 104-site WordPress multisite network for Seattle Public Schools (2021–present), enabling hundreds of editors across dozens of departments. That means custom Gutenberg components, role-based admin customisation, training materials, and ongoing maintenance — all coordinated under one install.

If your organisation runs multiple sites, multisite done properly is far cheaper and more coherent than managing separate installs.

Performance and Security

A slow site is a business problem. I audit, harden, and optimise WordPress installs: server configuration, caching strategy, database queries, asset pipelines, plugin audits, and security hardening. The result is a site that stays up and stays fast.

Do you work with existing sites or only greenfield builds?

Both. I take on rescues, migrations, and rebuilds just as often as new builds. Messy installs are a speciality.

Can you work with our in-house team?

Yes. I’ve embedded with internal teams at organisations of all sizes — mentoring junior developers, reviewing code, and handing off documented work. You don’t have to outsource everything.

Do you support ClassicPress?

Yes. For organisations that don’t need the Gutenberg editor and want a leaner, more stable codebase, ClassicPress is a legitimate choice. I maintain expertise in both.

How do you handle plugin-heavy installs?

I audit the plugin list, identify redundancies and security risks, and where possible replace third-party plugins with custom code that does exactly what you need — nothing more.

What does ongoing maintenance include?

Do you work with clients outside Canada?

Yes. Most of my clients are in the United States. I’ve worked with organisations in the UK and Africa as well. Time zones are manageable.
